The West Midlands is one of nine regions in England that qualifies for Objective 2 funding.

Objective 2 funding aims to assist economic regeneration in regions facing structural difficulties, whether they are industrial, rural or urban.

How money is invested

The West Midlands region was awarded over £575 million of Structural Funds under the new Objective 2 programme.

Objective 2 funding is available for nearly half of the West Midlands population and aims to renew industrial, urban and rural areas. It is split into three priority areas.
