Interreg
What Is INTERREG?
INTERREG IV forms the Co-operation Strand of Structural Funds programmes. It aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion by promoting balanced development across areas of the European Union territory through co-operation projects between Member States.
It is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The total value of the Interreg projects is approximately €1,27 Billion
How is INTERREG IV organised?
Interreg is delivered through three types of Co-operation:
Interreg IVA: It can be between Member States with joint boundaries (Cross order Co-operation)
Interreg IVB: Or through larger groupings of Member States grouped in pan MS regions (Transnational Co-operation) and
Interreg IVC: Through interregional cooperation – eg any region in the UK cooperating with a region within any Member State
